An aspiring amateur, thats me; nothing more and nothing less. I’ve had an interest in photography for around ten years now and am gently forcing myself to finally take the plunge and invite an audience wider than just friends and family. This has been an exceptionally slow burn though and whilst the added attention for my images would be great, I can’t honestly say that a website is a natural move for someone who leans more towards introvert than extrovert….hence the ‘gently forcing’.

The photographic genre that attracts me most has always been landscape photography. This preference most likely stems from my longstanding love for the natural world and learning to recognise our place within it as we manage to push Mother Nature ever further out of her comfort zone!

The vast majority of the images here are from Scotland and mostly from the country's West and North West coast. A few more are from Cornwall before Scotland tempted us away to its' more isolated shores! After holidaying here for about as long as my interest in photography has existed (wonder what inspired that!), my wife and I finally took the plunge and moved here in June this year (2024). With home now established in Glenmoriston, there are few places in Scotland that aren't within a 3-4 hour drive, which suits us perfectly. Having not really spent much time in the Highlands to date though, every local venture from our doorstep is providing plenty of adventure right now and more than we could have wished for.. The one question we still can't quite fathom is "how on Earth do we live here now!?".

I've always enjoyed watching the world go by but photography has helped turn daydreaming into a form of mindful observation which preserves precious snippets in time for future reflection. I hope browsing my images allows you to enjoy a peaceful moment; with any luck you hang around a while. Please take your time….I do.
